Design Idea

Dalí’s fluid surrealist forms inform the design. Solid gold appears almost soft and in motion.

Caviar Supreme packaging. A lockable outer case with 24K gold plating and a blue “Blue Wave” gift box made of wood and leather.

Gold Waves

Surrealist curves crafted from 18-karat gold require meticulous handwork to achieve their fluid shape.

Diamond-Set Emblem

Description

The gold relief of Dali seems to escape the phone’s rigid geometry. Free-flowing waves of precious metal recall the molten forms of Salvador Dalí’s surrealism, while violet intervals make their curves more pronounced.

Achieving this sense of movement in solid metal calls for patient hand-finishing. The diamond-set Apple emblem presents a different challenge: preserving the clarity of its outline amid deliberately irregular gold waves.
